Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to orders placed with Cake City Cakes. Cake City Cakes is operated by CAKECITY LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 16611934.

By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

1. Our products

Cake City Cakes provides freshly prepared cakes, including Ready to Go cakes and cakes made to customers' specifications.

Product photographs and examples are intended to give a reasonable representation of our cakes. As our cakes are handmade, minor variations in colour, decoration, positioning and finish may occur.

2. Custom cake orders

Custom cakes require a minimum of 72 hours' notice.

When placing a custom cake order, you are responsible for providing accurate information, including your required date, size, flavour, colour preferences, cake message and design instructions.

Where you provide an inspiration or reference image, it will normally be treated as design inspiration rather than a guarantee of an exact reproduction unless specifically agreed otherwise.

We may contact you if we need clarification before completing your cake.

3. Additional requests

Additional toppings, decorations or other special requests may involve an additional charge.

Where a request affects the price shown when you placed your order, we will contact you to discuss the additional cost before proceeding with that additional request.

4. Allergies and dietary requirements

Our cakes may contain or come into contact with allergens.

If you have an allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement, please contact us before placing your order so that we can advise you appropriately.

Please do not assume that a product is suitable for a particular allergy or dietary requirement unless this has been expressly confirmed by us.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£).

The price payable is the price shown at checkout, together with any applicable delivery charges and any additional charges that have been separately agreed with you.

Orders are not considered confirmed until the required payment has been successfully completed.

6. Collection

Collection is available from our Redruth location daily between 9:00am and 12:00pm.

Please wait until you have received confirmation that your order is ready before travelling to collect it.

Customers are responsible for transporting and storing collected cakes appropriately after collection.

7. Delivery

Delivery across Cornwall is currently available for £25 per order.

We will contact you where necessary to confirm delivery arrangements and timing.

You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address, telephone number and other information reasonably required to complete the delivery.

Delivery outside Cornwall is subject to availability and must be discussed with us separately.

8. Changes and cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Because cakes are perishable and custom cakes may be made specifically for you, your ability to cancel or change an order will depend on the type of order and how far preparation has progressed.

9. Customer-provided content

If you provide photographs, artwork, wording or other material for use in connection with your cake, you confirm that you have the right to provide and use that material for this purpose.

We reserve the right to decline requests containing material that we reasonably consider unlawful, offensive or inappropriate.

10. Cake care

Cakes are perishable and may be sensitive to heat, movement and incorrect storage.

Once a cake has been successfully collected or delivered, you are responsible for following any storage, transportation and handling instructions provided by Cake City Cakes.

We cannot accept responsibility for deterioration or damage caused by improper handling or storage after the cake has been collected or successfully delivered, except where the problem was already present when the cake was supplied.

11. Problems with an order

If there is a problem with your order, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at hello@cakecitycakes.com.

Where appropriate, please provide your order number, details of the issue and photographs so that we can investigate.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
